Our vision

Sustainability: an HR fundamental

The United Nations World Commission on Environment and Development, in its 1987 report, set out the strategies needed to achieve sustainable development:

  1. Development is a process leading to a higher quality of life for all. Economic activity and material well-being remain essential but so are, for example, health, education, and preservation of the environment and cultural heritages.
  2. The adjective sustainable includes the notion of being over time, working for long-term improvements in the well-being of us all.

Sustainable development is designed to act in stark contrast to other development models which have led, and continue to lead, to massive social and ecological damage at all levels, global to local.

Now, at a time when the concept of sustainability had come to feature at the heart of our societies, and thus our businesses, we at DL Partners are convinced that it is our duty as human resources professionals to make certain that sustainability is accorded the importance it merits.

For humanity lies at the very heart of our organisations; and it is people we are dealing with when recruiting, managing or training.
